This is Ford's own workshop manual for the facelifted Super Duty, 13,867 pages in a single searchable PDF. Every page footer reads “2020 F-250-550 Super Duty”, because Ford dates a book to the launch year of the range it covers. The three engines documented in it are the three this range was sold with, and both gearboxes appear, which is what confirms the span.
Ford's numbered section scheme is intact from end to end, so 303-01C is the 7.3L petrol V8, 303-01B is the 6.7L Power Stroke, 307-01B is the ten-speed automatic and 502-02 is the full frame. There are 165 distinct section numbers in the document.
One thing to know before buying. This is the workshop manual. Ford issues the wiring diagrams as a separate book, and the diagnostic procedures in here point to it by cell number, with lines such as “Refer to Wiring Diagrams Cell 14 for schematic and connector information”. So you get every removal, installation, diagnosis and specification procedure, and the engine and module electrical sections, but not the vehicle wiring schematics. We would rather say so on this page than have you find out after paying.

What you can repair with it
The illustrations are the thing that stands out. Ford moved to full colour rendering for this generation, so an exploded view arrives with each part shaded a different colour and a numbered table underneath giving the Ford part number and description. Compare that with the mono line drawings in the older books and the difference on a workbench is real.
The ten-speed automatic gets the largest share of the document. It runs from system operation and the component diagram through diagnosis, removal, full overhaul and installation, with the six-speed handled separately so you are never reading across from the wrong gearbox. Cooling and external controls each have their own sections for both boxes.
On the engine side all three units are documented independently, not squeezed into one shared section. That matters most for the 7.3L, which was new for 2020, and for the 6.7L Power Stroke, which has its own turbocharger section under 303-04C alongside its glow plug system, emission control and electronic engine controls. Body work is covered right down to sheet metal repair, with separate sections for front end, roof, side panel and rear end, plus vehicle-specific tolerance checks.
The driver assistance systems fitted to these trucks are here too: lane keeping, collision warning and avoidance, adaptive cruise, side and rear vision, parking aid and the tyre pressure monitoring system. Trailer work is well served, with the integrated trailer brake controller, Pro Trailer Backup Assist and trailer reverse guidance all appearing by name.
Manual language and format
English throughout, supplied as a single PDF of 13,867 pages. The text is searchable, so a section number such as 307-01B or a part name will take you straight there. It is a 665 MB download, which is large, so start it on a desktop rather than a phone and let it finish before opening.
Nothing needs installing and there is no activation. It opens in any PDF reader on Windows, Mac, Linux, tablet or phone.
Questions about this manual
Does this cover the 7.3L petrol V8?
Yes, as its own section, 303-01C, listed as “Engine – 7.3L 2V DEVCT V8 (239kW/320PS)”. That engine arrived for the 2020 model year, which is part of what dates this book and rules out earlier trucks.
Will it fit my 2019 truck?
No, and we would rather tell you plainly. The 2019 trucks are the earlier range, with different engines and the six-speed only. We publish a separate manual covering 2017 to 2019. This one is dated to 2020 on every page.
Are wiring diagrams included?
No. Ford publishes those as a separate book and this manual refers out to it by cell number. What you do get is the engine electrical, module communications network, module configuration and every electronic module section, which is where most diagnosis actually starts.
Which gearbox will my truck have?
Both are covered, so it does not matter for buying. The ten-speed 10R140 is the one fitted across most of the range from 2020, and the six-speed 6R100 appears in the book alongside it. Each has its own diagnosis, overhaul, cooling and external controls sections.
Does it cover the chassis cab and dually trucks?
Yes. Chassis cab, single rear wheel and dual rear wheel all appear by name, as do the F-450 and F-550. The Dana M275 and Dana M300 rear axles both have their own sections.
Is this a generic aftermarket manual?
No. This is Ford's own workshop information, written for franchised dealer technicians, with Ford part numbers, Ford special tool numbers and Ford torque figures. It assumes you have the vehicle in front of you and tells you the sequence, not the theory.
